In Cambridge, Massachusetts, history is deeply embedded in every wall, brick, and street corner of the city. Now, one of those brick walls just got some more history.

Chassidic artist, Yitzchak Moully, best known for his colorful murals and meaningful artistic collaborations, took on the challenge from Chabad of Cambridge’s Preschool of the Arts to create an Aleph Beis mural that would adorn the school’s building.

Based on the school’s logo, Moully created a masterpiece using aluminum plates and lots of paint depicting a tree from which blossoms a colorful array of leaves and Hebrew letters. Also included in the mural is a menorah, Star of David, Challah, guitar, music note, and paintbrush.

The letters and leaves of the mural were given the finishing touches by the children of the preschool, who painted them in a wide variety of colors, making the mural a collaborative effort filled with meaning and inspiration.

“We each painted one of the Hebrew letters in our logo,” the school wrote in an Instagram post. “Each friend chose a special color and brush. This art wall reflects all that is POTA: The tree reminds us that just as a tree needs strong roots to grow tall and strong, with the POTA nurture and care, we are ensuring that our roots are strong and proud!”
