New Shluchim to George Mason University

Rabbi Ezra and Bracha (Meisel) Wiemer, together with their children, are going to be operating the hub of Jewish life at George Mason University, featuring all facets of a thriving Jewish community.

Chabad at George Mason University, an affiliate of Chabad Lubavitch of Northern Virginia, will be a true home away from home, in a time that college students are seeking connection more than ever.

George Mason University is a public university situated in suburban Fairfax, VA, which has 1,250 Jewish students across its undergrad and graduate programs, in addition to faculty.

A small snapshot of what Chabad at GMU will be featuring:

  • Shabbat and holidays from A-Z, including delicious meals and engaging prayer services
  • Social events and programming
  • Weekly Jewish classes on a vast array of topics, including JLI’s esteemed Sinai Scholars courses.
  • One-on-one mentorship and guidance
  • Kosher food readily available, as there is currently no kosher option available on campus

Your support means that…

  • the 1,250 Jewish students at George Mason will have a one-stop-shop for all things Jewish, warm, and welcoming
  • incoming freshmen, who spent much of their high school experience on virtual classes, will have a supportive community where they feel at home
  • Jewish young adults, some of whom have never identified with their Judaism before, will engage like never before
  • every Friday night, dozens of students will relish in a magical and uplifting Shabbat environment

… And so much more.

Together, we can make this happen. Please join us in impacting George Mason Jews in a deep and lasting way. Let’s Launch!
