Epic Lag B’Omer Celebrations Begin Down Under

The Chabad Youth and Yeshivah Shule community in Melbourne, Australia was treated to a one-of-a-kind community event that began Lag B’Omer on a high.

Hundreds of families gathered for a grand Siyum HaRambam preceding the community carnival, with dinner and drinks provided. Rabbi Menachem Lipskier led the rally, inspiring the children to renew their commitment to the daily learning of Sefer Hamitzvos. The children enjoyed video presentations and a siyum led by Tzivos Hashem soldiers Ari Cowen, Chaya Adelist and Yehudis Blesofsky, 12 Pesukim, and a magic show, followed by an epic Lag B’Omer carnival.

A packed court of over a thousand people enjoyed the jumping castles, carnival booths and activities, activity inflatables, and giant rides. A glowing highlight was the bonfire surrounded by fathers dancing with their children, to the music produced by a tremendous boombox truck. The screens featured Lag B’Omer parades with the Rebbe and past Lag B’Omer parades in Melbourne playing simultaneously. Shimon Susskind performed a smashing fire show that blew adults and kids away!

Following the younger kids, the high school boys and girls had their own bonfires and programs respectively, and the joy and singing lasted well into the night!

The event was generously supported by Abe Wolf Construction, and in honour of M & S Sperlin’s marriage. Thank you to Chabad Youth and Yeshivah Shule teams, Ezra Susskind, Koby Mazuz, Ohel Chana volunteers, Beth Rivkah volunteers, and Yeshivah volunteers for making it all happen.
