Camp Emunah Closes on an Additional 100 Acres

Chabad’s largest Girls camp just got even bigger.

The administration of the Camp Emunah overnight camp announced that they had closed on an additional 100 acres of magnificent campgrounds in the Catskill Mountains.

The purchase gives is an extensive expansion for the camp, providing space for the thousands of girls spend their summers on its grounds.

“This purchase is part of the expansion of Emunah Camps to make sure there is adequate space for all girls that want to attend summer camp,” the camp administration wrote in an email in which they thanked the camps many generous donors.

Much of the funds for this new parcel came from the recent successful crowdfunding campaign in Honor of the late Reb Chave Hecht OBM, the wife of Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda Hecht OB”M who served as the camps director since its inception.

Established in 1953 with a special Bracha from with a special blessing from the Rebbe to Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda and his wife, Camp Emunah was born as a division of NCFJE.

The Rebbe visited the camp grounds located in the Catskill Mountains Greenfield Park three times, and those grounds, which spans over 300 acres and has access to a beautiful seven acre lake, waterfall and stream, are still in use today.

Updates from the camp are expected soon as the plans for the new grounds unfold.
