Meaningful Interviews: Mrs. Chana Sharfstein – From Stockholm to Crown Heights

Mrs. Chana Sharfstein is the daughter of Rabbi Yisroel Zuber, who studied in Lubavitch under the tutelage of the Rebbe Rashab. In 1940 she was blessed by the Previous Rebbe while on his way to America. Her father was sent to Stockholm to help the Jewish community, and was lead the community as its chief rabbi. In the 1950’s she developed a very close relationship with the Rebbe who guided her in all aspects of her life including marriage and family. She headed the Beis Rivka PTA, wrote for the Yiddishe Heim publication, was a tour guide to Stockholm, and most recently featured in a documentary about Jewish life in Sweden after the Holocaust.
