The Governor of the state of New York, Kathy Hochul proclaimed “120 Days of Education” in the State of New York in honor of the One Hundred and Twentieth Birthday of the Rebbe.
The New York State Governor stressed the Rebbe’s global reach and that for the last 82 years the Lubavitch movement has its World Headquarters in the State of New York.
The Governor concludes:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New York, do hereby proclaim official recognition from Tuesday April 12, 2022 corresponding to 11 Nissan, 5782, the Rebbe’s 120th birthday, to Tuesday, August 9, 2022, corresponding to 12 Av, 5782 as
120 DAYS OF EDUCATION
in the Empire state in commemoration of this 120th anniversary of the birth of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M Schneerson.
Given under my hand and the Privy Seal of the State at the Capitol in the City of Albany this fourth day of April in the year two thousand twenty-two.
“We want to thank the Governor for her Proclamation in honor of the Rebbe’s 120th birthday” said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, director Lubavitch Youth Organization. “This is greatly appreciated by the Rebbe’s Chassidim and fallowers.”
The Mayor of the City of New York Eric Adams was scheduled to personally bring and present his Proclamation at the Grand 120th Birthday Celebration in front of “770.” Unfortunately, the Mayor got Covid and was precluded from doing so. “we want to wish the mayor a speedy recovery, or as we say, a Refuoh Shleimo” said Rabbi Butman at the Grand 120 Year Celebration.
Fred Kreizman, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU) presented the Proclamation to Rabbi Butman and spoke warmly of the Mayor’s, and his own, relationship with the Crown Heights Jewish community. The large crowd received his words with great applauds.
