Dutchess County, NY, Proclaim Education and Sharing Day

At an event honoring the Lubavitcher Rebbe County Executive Marcus Molinaro, East Fishkill Town Supervisor Nicholas D’Alessandro and Senator Sue Cvijanovich Serino all proclaimed this Tuesday, April 12th, the Rebbes 120th birthday as “Education and Sharing Day” in Dutchess County, in recognition of the Rebbe’s significant contributions toward improvements in the world of education, morality and acts of charity.

“We thank those who participated, including EF Library Director Gloria Weisgrau Goverman, and Van Wyck Jr. High principal Dr. Steven Shuchat,” said Rabbi Zalman Sandhaus of Pardess Farms.

Education and Sharing Day is a day of national commemoration that has been designated by every president since 1978. The date of its observance changes annually to correspond with the birthday of the Rebbe (Jewish Calendar) who brought a new emphasis on education to the forefront of public discourse.

The day is a time to recognize, reaffirm and bring awareness the importance of education in society.
