Chabad Youth Raise Funds for Ukraine

Middle School students from throughout the County gathered at the Chabad Center in Chester for an important cause.  Participants created Judaica art to sell to benefit the YEKA Orphanage of the Ukraine.

“This is the time to empower our youth so that they can make a difference in a time of crisis”, said Chana Burston, who co-directs Chabad of Orange County with her husband, Rabbi Pesach

Enthusiastic young artists painted a variety of colorful designs, many of which incorporate the blue and yellow color theme of the Ukrainian flag.  Each piece was given a title, and the art has already brought in over $300 to benefit the children of the YEKA orphanage.

Monroe resident Bonnie McCarthy responded to the program by writing “what a great idea and beautiful work!”  McCarthy purchased two paintings by sisters Hailey and Ava Lejovitzky Reich

Haley’s piece, a blue and yellow Star of David, is entitled “Star of David for Ukraine” and Ava’s “With Love to Ukraine” art shows two hearts of blues and yellow hues.

The program was organized by Chabad Youth Leader Rosie Rimler.
