New Book Promises to Take Pressure off Pesach Preps

A special book with a big promise awaits you in all fine Jewish book stores: it will take the pressure off your Pesach cleaning and other preparations.

Jews around the world are in the throes of Pesach preparations—and along with that comes a mountain of pressure. Some are worried about where they’re going to magically come up with the extra money to finance the expensive holiday. Others are looking forward to greeting their children from out of town, but are also concerned how they’re ever going to give each child the precious time and attention they need while also juggling work, holiday preps, and other important chores.

Still others are racing around the house in the never-ending search for that elusive pretzel hiding beneath the couch or in the back seat of the car, frantically trying to get the house spic and span for the beautiful Yom Tov.

And along with it all comes a tremendous amount of stress.

It is these commonplace concerns that were recently on Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld’s mind. As the rabbi of the Beis Eliezer Yitzchak Shul in Crown Heights, he is used to hearing about such matters, not to mention his own personal experience as well. And so, with Hashem’s help, he has published a short yet powerful book, The Entryway to the Gates of Trust, that deftly addresses these matters.

Comprised of eighteen chapters, the book was born from Rabbi Weinfeld’s articles that were published in the Kfar Chabad magazine. In these pages, the author focuses on practical strategies to live with complete trust in Hashem, as well as a life that is filled with unbreakable joy, regardless the circumstance.

The book is based on the introduction penned by the great Rabbi Bachya Ibn Pakuda to his own famous work, Sha’ar Habitachon in Chovas Halevavos.

The book was first published in Hebrew, and has been recently translated into English, edited by Rabbi Ahrele Loschak, an experienced English language translator and editor involved in many other works.

In an effort to bring this important work to as wide an audience as possible, the publisher has made it available at an affordable price.
