Tiferes Bachurim Welcome New Sefer Torah

by CrownHeights.info

Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim, under the auspices of The Rabbinical College of America, has served as the foundation and guiding light for thousands of students over the past 50 years. With encouragement and direction from The Rebbe, Tiferes has impacted countless lives and has left an indelible mark on the Jewish landscape as we know it today.

This year Tiferes celebrated 50 years since its inception, marking the momentous occasion by commissioning the writing of a unique Sefer Torah. The Torah was completed and welcomed at Yeshivas Tiferes Bochurim on Sunday, to much singing, dancing, and fanfare.

The completion of the Torah unites Tiferes alumni, Hanhola, and the tens of thousands of people they have gone on to affect as shluchem, educators, rabbonim, and businessmen around the globe. Especially befitting, the Sefer Torah was dedicated to the alumni that have since passed on.

“Being used on a weekly basis in the same place where they learned Torah and grew mitzvah observance will be l’iluy nishmosom and connect them eternally to the tzeror hachaim,” the Yeshiva wrote on their fundraising page.

Another unique aspect of the Sefer Torah was the custom commissioned silver crown made by award-winning Jewelry Designer from Morristown, NJ Ezra Solomon.

As a regular attendee for over seventeen years at Tiferes Bochurim in Morristown, Ezra has donated his time and money to design and make the Kesser for the new Sefer Torah.

Made from solid silver using an extra thick gauge for extra strength and durability, the Kesser weighs three times more than those normally used.

A picture of the completed Kesser was sent to a renowned manufacturer in Israel who expressed interest in using Ezra as a designer and placed a retail value of $25,000.00 on this unique Kesser.
