30 Letters in 30 Days
Do you feel a personal connection to the Rebbe’s views on life? Over the years, the Rebbe answered tens of thousands of letters, a portion of which are printed in the series known as Igros Kodesh. In these letters, we find a treasure trove of compassion, wisdom, faith, and practicality—but perhaps most importantly, a direct path to personal insight into the Rebbe’s approach to a vast range of life’s issues. By observing how the Rebbe replies to people from all walks of life dealing with real life issues, we catch a glimpse into the Rebbe’s worldview as it applies to everyday life. In other words, we learn to take the Rebbe’s guidance personally.
We are now nearing thirty days to 11 Nissan. The Rebbe asked that those celebrating his birthday should give “gifts of Torah.” Studying the Rebbe’s letters is a unique form of Torah study that not only educates us about a vast array of topics but also connects us in a deep way to the Rebbe’s unique approach to life.
This year, join people from all over the world in studying Thirty Letters in Thirty Days during the month leading up to the celebration of the Rebbe’s 120th birthday on 11 Nissan. Each night, starting Sunday, March 13, there will be a 30-minute class on one letter of the Rebbe taught by renowned teacher Rabbi Shais Taub broadcast live on zoom and available for replay at 30letters30days.com.
The 30 letters chosen for study were taken from a single volume of Igros Kodesh, specifically Volume 10 which contains letters from the year 5715 (1954-5). These letters give us a sampling of the different kinds of letters contained in Igros Kodesh.
Beginning Sunday, March 13, there will be a nightly 30-minute class with Rabbi Shais Taub studying one letter each night. Class will be held every night (including Motzei Shabbos.) To make up for Shabbos, the Thursday night class will be a double class (one hour, two letters.) Class will air live on Zoom at 10:00 PM EDT and be made available afterwards for replay at 30letters30days.com.
The final class will take place on the eve of 11 Nissan, Monday night April 11. This class will be held in-person at a special farbrengen for women at the Rebbe’s Ohel. Transportation from Crown Heights will be provided. The event will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. A pan with the names of all class participants will be brought to the Rebbe and a set of Igros Kodesh will be gifted to one participant by raffle.
Community Resources:
The response has been overwhelmingly positive to this new initiative! Community leaders can now provide their community with additional opportunities to learn from and apply these letters.
You can engage your community in discussion to make these letters even more personally applicable by hosting an event to discuss the Rebbes letters on a deeper level. Material for this event will be provided with 3 letters presented in a format to promote discussion, engagement and life application. In addition to this, communities will be provided with Editable Flyers and PR images to promote this event, access to a group with Rabbi Shais Taub to discuss the letters further, featured videos and many other community elements.

Thank you so very much Rabbi Taub and all the team. I have gained immensely. Just wanted to share with you. After letter saying how important it is to write to the Rebbe good news, I sat down and mediately wrote a good news letter to the Rebbe. It felt wonderful. I was having financial difficulties but did not mention them at al. Not 2 days later problem of about 8 months solved.
