After Five Days of Travel, Two Kharhov Shluchim Arrive in New York To A Joyous Welcome

The Raices and Levinson families, Shluchim to the Ukrainian city of Kharkov, arrived in New York City Sunday night to a large and joyous welcome at the airport.

A bus filled with bochurim, family members, and well wishers arrived at JFK Airport in New York City along with representatives from the New York City Mayor’s Office and the NYPD.

With the help of Rabbi Yossi Rapp of Chabad of the Airport, the families were quickly able to pass through border security and were met with music dancing and reunion.

Notable dignitaries and activists joined the arrival celebrations including Deputy Inspector Richie Taylor, the highest ranking yarlmuka wearing Jew in the NYPD.

Rabbi Yaacov Behrman of Operation Survival and Rabbi Lazer Avtzon of the Association of Crown Heights Shuls were also on hand to welcome the Shluchim.

In a brief address, Rabbi Raices thanked everyone for their teffilos, and pointed out that many thousands of Jews were still in Ukraine, and under danger.
