Mikvah.org: How and When Do You Have Conversations With Your Children on Sensitive Topics

When it comes to conversations with our children about sensitive topics, it is fair to say that at its core, a healthy connection and bond between parents and children is crucial.

The question is how and when you start building that connection.

Join Mikvah.org and Chinuch Through Connection on 29 Adar 1 – March 2 at 8:30 pm (ET),  on mikvah.org/zoom,  for an important conversation that will address this very topic.

Before we can think of bringing up sensitive ideas to our children and helping them navigate life, we need to work on a constant state of connection.

In the good moments, the healthy moments, the unhealthy moments, the moments where we feel our children are rejecting us, etc.

Connection needs to be at the forefront of every conversation, every interaction, and every conflict.

This is a bridge that is constantly under construction, making it stronger and more durable each day.

The first plank is placed upon its span at childbirth, and it never stops!

In this interview we will discuss the need and the ‘how’s’ to model for our children, what we can do to help them enter healthy relationships without an unhealthy codependency, and many other important and practical ideas.

All of this is rooted in what Rebbeim have taught and instilled in us.

Rabbi Yaakov Chaiton, founder of Chinuch Through Connection, spends much of his time in his young dynamic community mentoring parents who find themselves in chaotic moments with their children, helping them through the steps of connection and appreciating its crucial need.

He is the only Jewish chaplain for the Robbinsville Police Department and gets called at all hours of the day to help out people in crisis. He also receives calls from parents, teachers,  and principals from across the world, seeking ideas, guidance, and advice for children of all ages.

This is the start to the important conversations Mikvah.org has inspired all year in the Chabad community.  Join us for the introductory stage that is not to be missed!
