The Rabbinical College of Australia and New Zealand announced the completion of the first stage of a historic expansion to its campus in Melbourne, and will beholding an official opening ceremony.

“We would like to invite you to participate in the Official Opening and Dedication of The Ronny Tatarka Wing and Honouring of our Major Benefactors which will take place at 11am on Sunday 13th March at the Rabbinical College, 67 Alexandra St, St Kilda East 3183,” an email from the school said.

The famous Chabad yeshiva launched a campaign to renovate and expand its campus in 2019, when they signed a contract with a construction company to begin building its most ambitious project yet – a major extension and redevelopment of its Alexandra Street campus. The work actually began in March of 2020.

The first stage of the new and exciting world-class development focused on the construction of a new two-story wing which includes an extension to the Zal, new staff offices, five new bedrooms to accommodate fifteen students, and restoration of the Dining Room to its original grand size.

Established in 1966, the Rabbinical College of Australia & New Zealand (Yeshivah Gedolah) is Australia’s first and largest fully residential institute of tertiary Jewish studies. It caters for both Australian and international students. Its graduates are found in all areas of professions, industry and commerce, education, the Rabbinate and outreach work, serving communities here, interstate and overseas.

The development was enabled in large part due to the successful Charidy campaign.
