Merkos Shlichus Registration Is Open!

As many countries begin easing travel restrictions, Merkos Shlichus is opening registration for this coming Pesach, with the hope that the program will be able to return to normal and even expand.

For the past two years, the international travel necessary to bring Bochurim to remote Jewish communities has been next to impossible. This year, Merkos hopes global travel will resume in time for Pesach. 

At the Kinus, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, undertook to expand Merkos Shlichus in honor of the Rebbe’s 120th birthday, this Yud Alef Nissan. In keeping with that promise, Merkos hopes to send more “Roving Rabbis” and reach more Jews than ever before.

Although Ukraine and Southeast Asia will be inaccessible this year, Rabbi Schneur Nejar, director of Merkos Shlichus, said, “ we are cautiously optimistic that Merkos Shlichus will be able to reach most of the world and impact the largest number of communities yet.”

In a statement on Friday, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice-chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, urged Shluchim to register for this Pesach’s Merkos Shlichus program. “We’re helping Shluchim find Bochurim, whether they need someone to run a Seder in a nearby city, or simply need help with their own community Sedorim,” he said. 

With Pesach rapidly approaching, the registration window is set to close in a week’s time. Applications must be received by Sunday, 3 Adar II (March 6th) at 1:00 pm ET.
