Mikvah.org Presents Fearbuster Course For Mikva Attendants
As a Mikvah attendant, a woman assumes a tremendous responsibility and privilege to ensure that a woman’s immersion in the mikvah is complete and kosher. The mitzvah of Taharas Hamishpacha and immersion is vital to the continuity of Am Yisroel. Last year, Mikvah.org offered a 5 week course for Mikva attendants with over 250 women from around the globe.
A topic briefly covered in that course included the reality that there are woman who have trouble, in varying degrees, with immersing in water. When this fear is present it replaces the joy of this beautiful mitzvah with anxiety and apprehension. The woman who serves as the Mikvah attendant needs the correct tools to enable her to assist every woman to be able to immerse comfortably and confidently.
Elie Wolf, MS, BCB Fellow/BCIA, developer of the Fearbuster Method, specializes in helping women who have a fear of water, immerse in the Mikvah successfully. While a woman may need phobia therapy or swimming lessons for the long term, at the Mikvah – when it is time for her tevilla – it is helpful for every attendant to have the tools they need to help a woman immerse by encouraging her to self-manage.
Mikvah.org is excited to now bring every Mikvah the opportunity for an online training session with Elie on March 22 – 19 Adar 2 at 1 PM.
Registration and payment in advance is required at mikvah.org/fearbuster
