New Training and Accreditation Program For Chosson Teachers Created With The Support of The Crown Heights Beis Din

by CrownHeights.info

Machon Taharas Habayis, a newly established organization to train and accredit Chosson teachers has been launched with the support of the Beis Din of Crown Heights.

In a letter signed by Harav Avraham Osdoba Shlita and Harav Yeshaya Braun Shlita, the Beis Din throws their support behind the new organization being led by Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov and Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz.

The organization’s goal is to ensure that chassanim are properly prepared with the required Halachic and Hashkafic needs as they enter into a marriage. It also creates a standard and continuity with additional guidance if required.

With the launch of the new moised, the Crown Heights Rabbonim who are Mesader Kiddushin will also add additional questions regarding who the Chosson teacher was, to the normal “Birrur Hayahadus”.

Likewise the Crown Heights Kollel will inquire as to the Chosson teacher before accepting new members.

B’shaah Tova, we send our brochos honoring the founding of “Machon Taharas HaBayis” institute which led by HaRav Tuvia HaLevi Kasimov, a Rov in our kehila, and HaRav Menachem Mendel Dov Yusewitz who have undertaken to strengthen Tahara and Kedusha in the Yiddishe home in all aspects. This begins with ensuring Chasanim establish their future Jewish homes based on authentic Yiddishkait both in Halachic and Hashkafic matters.

We hereby notify that this Machon in under our supervision. We fully trust the Machon in every aspect of Madrichei Chasanim and we specifically rely upon Chosson teachers who are recognized and approved by this Machon.

Hence, for Sidur Chupa v’Kidushin in Crown Heights (in addition to verifying Jewish status etc) we will inquire to make sure the Chosson learnt by a Madrich Chasanim which is approved and accepted by this Machon. (Much like this is examined regarding the Kallah Teacher).

Until the Machon is completely set up. The responsibility lies upon each Chosson to do proper research ensuring that his Madrich Chasanim is indeed a Yirei Shomayim and teaches according to the Halacha and Hahskafa which has been passed down to us for generations – our Mesora. (of course the same applies for a Kallah teacher).

Rabbi Avrohom Asdoba Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun

P.S. We are also aware that Hanhalas Hakollel under the Mazkirus have decided that all future Chasanim applying for Kollel, the Hanhala will check if they learnt by someone approved by the Machon prior to accepting them. We ask of all other Kollelim follow this step.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Who needs the power here? Only reason I can imagine for this is that new teachers want to market themselves.
