250 Young Shluchos Honor the Rebbetzin’s Legacy

All around the globe, young girls sat immersed, their attention fixated on the screen in front of them. No, they were not doing schoolwork or playing computer games. They were captivated by something far more meaningful. It is Chof Beis Shevat and the Young Shluchos are celebrating the life of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka.

This year, the twenty-second of Shvat, marked 34 years since the Rebbetzin’s passing. In honor of this auspicious day, the MyShliach Hebrew Girls department, led by Elky Velkart, orchestrated a special “zoom farbrengen” for the young Hebrew-speaking Shluchos living throughout Israel, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The program included a beautiful presentation from various Shluchos around the world. They inspired the younger generation by sharing their personal stories from their lives on Shlichus. Following the video presentation, Mrs. Feigy Wolf of Kfar Chabad presented a dynamic account of the Rebbetzin’s life and legacy, empowering the young girls and strengthening their connection to the Rebbetzin and their commitment to the Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit that she exemplified.

Their spirits soared in tandem as over 250 young voices united in harmonious Chassidishe niggunim. Uplifted as they were, the girls were inspired to take upon themselves Hachlatos Tovos to carry the spirit of the moment into their everyday life.

“It is wonderful to see the intergenerational connections being sown,” relates Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of Merkos 302, “we are very thankful to the Shluchos who are taking the time and energy to help inspire the next generation of Shluchos to continue illuminating the world with the light and warmth of Yiddishkeit.”
