Barbara, Caretaker of Gan Yisroel Parksville Grounds Passes Away

For the thousands upon thousands of campers who spent legendary summers at Camp Gan Yisroel in Parksville, NY, she was a fact of life.
Barbara Elaine Taylor, a long time resident of Parksville and caretaker of the Gan Yisroel grounds, passed away this past Thursday at the age of 83.
The daughter of the late David and Jenny Housecamp Bowen, she was born February 24, 1938 in Orangeburg, NY. Having graduated Nyack High School, she married Eric B. Taylor who she assisted as the caretaker of the Camp Gan Israel grounds for decades.
A familiar figure, she would regularly remind the campers to respect and keep the “Rebbe’s Camp” clean.
