Park Slope Shul Arranges Chabad “Shluchim” As Tahalucha Representatives This Year

Twenty Shluchim will be representing the Crown Heights community this Simchas Torah at Cong. Bnai Jacob in Park Slope.

Being one of the closest Shuls to Crown Heights, every year hundreds of Lubavitchers parade to Park Slope to bring the energy of Simchas Torah to the local Jewish community. The community enthusiastically welcomes the large group that transforms the ruach of the shul and adds tremendous energy to the Hakafot and Simchas Yom Tov.

Last year, due to the Covid pandemic, the synagogue had limited space and a strict Covid policy, and politely requested that guests who had somewhere else to celebrate Yom Tov not join the community Hakafot. The Park Slope shul was extremely grateful to the Crown Heights community for respecting their policy.

With Covid numbers in New York still quite high, the community in Park Slope is still very cautious and apprehensive and the shul is once again aiming to keep the numbers down as much as they can while including all of the local Jews.

Not wanting to miss out on the special energy that the Lubavitchers add to the Yom Tov, Cong. B’nai Jacob invited a small group to represent the Crown Heights community and bring their ruach, while still ensuring an environment where all of the locals felt comfortable to join.

The Shul thanks the community in advance for respecting their policy and helping them service the Park Slope Jewish community as effectively as possible, saying that just as the Lubavitch crowd brings joy by showing up in large numbers on a regular year, they’ll add in joy by not joining en masse this year.
