Putin Sends Rosh Hashana Message To Russian Jewery
As has become an annual practice leading up to Rosh Hashana, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter of congratulations to the Jews of Russia to Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar.
On the evening preceding Rosh Hashanah, a special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived with a greeting card and wishes in honor of Rosh Hashanah and the new year for goodness and greeting.
In the letter President Putin writes: “To the Jews of Russia, please sincerely accept my greetings for Rosh Hashanah. One of the most important holidays for the Jews of the world, Rosh Hashanah according to the Jewish calendar, is the one that gives religious people the joy of connecting with the ancient historical and cultural heritage of their ancestors, with the traditions and customs passed down from generation to generation. The holiday Symbolizes spiritual purity, moral revival and religious progress.These days people make a summary of what was done in the past year and make plans for the new year.
Now the life of the Jewish community in Russia is full of good deeds in important projects. The Jewish organizations make a respectable contribution to strengthening the dialogue between different peoples and different religions, to promoting trust and understanding between people, to maintaining domestic peace in society. Of course, they care about family values โโand the education of the younger generation, and actively participate in charity projects.
