The Rockaway Nassau Shomrim Patrol has requested the Rockaway Jewish community’s help in helping locate the two stolen Torahs from the Chabad of the Beaches this past Shabbos.

“This past Saturday, Chabad of Long Beach was burglarized and ransacked'” wrote Rockaway Shomrim on Twitter. “Religious articles were defaced, stolen, and discarded. @NassauCountyPD arrested the suspect, but we still need your help.”

Shomrim also published a letter in which they report that multiple items from the shul were found on the beach, either discarded or washed up.

“It is believed that the Torah Scrolls were either discarded nearby or even in the Ocean. If the latter is indeed true, the Torah Scrolls can possibly make its way to the shore in Rockaway or even Brooklyn,” they wrote.

Shomrim requested that anyone who comes across the Torahs or any accompanying items call their hotline at 516-858-7300.
