770 Inscription Gets A Cleaning and Rewriting

by CrownHeights.info

Around two months ago, the facade of 770 got a thorough cleaning, scouring dirt and growth from the face of the historic location.

Not by accident, the painted inscription above the front door of 770 got partially removed during the cleaning, and today work began the first step in writing it.

To fully clear the spot which needs repainting, R’ Yossi Rabkin, Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam, and Rabbi Levi Sudak used chemicals to remove the existing paint, clearing and washing it. After a week’s wait for the chemicals to completely dissipate, the inscription will be rewritten.

The initial inscription was painted above the door prior to gimmel Tammuz by Rabbi Shalom Jacobson obm, Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam, and Rabbi Levi Sudak. The wording was repainted again after gimmel Tammuz.
