Tri-Valley Chabad Closes Day Camp Over COVID-19 Cases

by CrownHeights.info

It was a hard and unwanted decision for Rabbi Raleigh Resnick of Chabad of the Tri-Valley who was forced to close his day camp over five COVID positive cases among the youth.

“Upon consultation, our camp directorship made the decision to close the camp for the remainder of the summer,” said Rabbi Resnik in a message to the community. “This is obviously not something we wanted, but is the right decision under the circumstances.”

The decision to close the camp also came with closure of all in person events at the Chabad’s Center of Jewish Life on Hopyard Road in Pleasanton, despite no other cases being confirmed in any of the camp staff or administration.

All those who were confirmed as being COVID positive were allegedly asymptomatic or exhibiting only mild symptoms.

The entire premises of the Chabad’s Center would be disinfected in an attempt to ensure no transmission, according to Rabbi Resnik.
