Following a visit to the Ohel on Friday, former Jerusalem Mayor and Knesset MK Nir Barkat traveled to Crown Heights where he met with Lubavitch leaders and toured 770.

While in Crown Heights, Barkat met with Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, the Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, and other Chabad leaders including Rabbi Ephraim Mintz of JLI, and Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky.

Barkat spent a few minutes davening in the Rebbe’s room and toured the broadcast office of the WLCC, getting a close up of the Rebbe’s approach to education and hafatzas hamayanus.

A tour of the Library came after, which he toured with the chief librarian Rabbi Levitin.

In discussion during his visit, Barkat noted the two Lubavitch shluchim near his home town, and how he feels like a shliach himself. He also noted his strong feelings towards Chabad, and how he views chabad as a bridge to modern Jews.

Barkat was in the United States in order to present Israel’s case on multiple issues to public officials.
