The Pew Research Center, considered a leading research center and think tank has published a report this past week on “Jewish Americans in 2020.”

In their report, they rectified an oversight from their 2013 report by asking the interviewees about their affiliation with Chabad.

In their research, which can be found in its entirety here, they discovered that nearly one-in-five Jews say they often (5%) or sometimes (12%) participate in activities or services with Chabad.

With an estimated 7,000,000 Jewish people residing in the United States, that would mean around 1.4 Million people reported as having an affiliation with Chabad.

The affinity for people to gravitate to chabad appears surprisingly more with Orthodox Jews 46%, than with Conservative 25%, Reform 12%, and unaffiliated 8%.

Other areas the report touched on was the rate of intermarriage, education, religious affiliation, synagogue attendance and  connection to the State of Israel.
