Child Found After Frantic Search in Los Angeles

by CrownHeights.info

After an hours long search Sunday night, a 6-year-old boy from the Chabad community of Los Angeles was reunited with his family.

The boy had gotten into an argument with his family around 8:00pm when his parents lost track of him, sparking a frantic rush in an attempt to locate him.

Los Angeles Hatzolah was called, and began coordinating efforts along with the local police.

In an attempt to cover ground quickly, Hatzolah published a request that community members join the search, asking those available to go to Mansfield and Oakwood where they were provided with a grid.

“Please respond to Mansfield and Oakwood if you are available to assist and you will be provided with a grid to cover,” they wrote. “If subject is located please notify Hatzolah immediately (800)613-1911”

In a show of achdus that brought praise from across the community, hundreds of volunteers heeded the call and fanned out across the neighborhood in search of the lost child.

After more than two hours of searching, involving police K-9 units according to local news reports, the child was found hiding in a closet.

By 10:19 in the evening, Hatzalah had put out a PSA that the child had been located safe and sound, and singing and dancing broke out on the street.

A special thanks was posted, thanking the community for turning out at the moment of need.
