Rabbi Osdoba Joins Jewish Rabbonim and Rebbes In Letter to President Trump

Chasidic rebbes and heads of Litvisha yeshivas, together with rabbis from Chabad, rarely and unprecedentedly signed a letter in which they thanked and praised President Donald Trump for the many things he has done for the Jews in the United States.

Although the letter is a letter of thanks and does not call for support of President Trump in the upcoming election, the publication of the letter and the timing do not leave a shadow of a doubt in the support of rabbis and rebbe.

The signing of the letter began in May-June, and ended in recent days, when rabbinical activist Rabbi Moshe Morgan began to sign the rabbis to thank President Trump for a number of things, the release of the famous prisoner Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin, the Prisoners’ Law on which Morgan Marten worked. Dozens of ultra-Orthodox prisoners sentenced to long prison terms for white-collar offenses, and for his strong support on any religious issue and giving protection in passing laws protecting religious freedom, and more recently with support for opening synagogues contrary to state governors’ knowledge of the corona virus.

In the letter, the rabbis state that they are “writing to express our deep gratitude to you, Mr. President, especially in light of your recent statement that prayer houses and religious institutions should be seen as ‘essential’. You have given a strong voice to what all good people know beyond doubt: that now, more than ever, We must turn to God Almighty, strengthen our faith and remain true to our values in the face of these present troubles. “The letter further states: “You understand, Mr. President, that our faith in God is what will keep us strong and bring us out of this disaster.”

The rabbis thanked President Trump for his unprecedented support for Jews. “We trust our faith in God to overcome this crucial challenge,” they wrote. “This is why your approval for religious freedom is so important, especially at a time when we need religious houses and schools to be open in a safer and more logical way now than ever, religious houses and schools are indeed essential, and essential for nourishing the mind, as food nourishes the body.”

The rabbis congratulated the President: “You have strengthened America to proudly hold the banner of God and religious faith, so God will bless you to lead us to victory in our current war with the Corona, in words from the Psalms ‘From Power to Power’, and lead us to a better time, with personal blessings of Health and prosperity and joy to your family and friends. ”

“The letter is a great drama in the ultra-Orthodox United States, as none of these rabbis have ever been involved in politics. The letter is not political support, but a letter of support for Trump’s actions in religious institutions. Signatures began in the summer, and the undersigned were recently added by a group of rabbis and his land.” Rim in an unprecedented way.
