In the next installment of the Highlights from 770 series, we present unique footage from the eve of Yom Kippur in 1989 (5750).

After performing the “Kaparos” ritual, the Rebbe brings his chicken to the Shochet and performs the Mitzvah of covering the blood.

The Rebbe distributes honey cake, “Lekach,” with wishes for a sweet new year. Notice the many dignitaries and government officials that came, including mayor of New York, Ed Koch.

Following the Mincha services on the eve of Yom Kippur, the Rebbe blesses the congregation and distributes more honey cake, “Lekach,” with a dollar to be given to charity.
