Revel Coming Back To The Streets of New York City

Moped ride share company Revel will be coming back to the streets where it all began, New York City.

The company made the announcement that it will immediately be resuming service Thursday, with some new safety requirements.

“Today we’re relaunching Revel in the city where it all began. We’re rolling out new and enhanced education, safety, and accountability features, and there are a few things you’ll have to do to start riding again.”

The new requirements include in-app safety training, designed to sharpen skills and knowledge of the rules of the road. To kick off and start driving, riders will have to take a “Helmet Selfie” before each ride, and take one of a passenger if you is coming along.

Just one month ago, revel announced that it would be temporarily pulling their fleet from the streets of the city, generally believed to be over serious safety issues.
