JNet Torah Celebration Less Than One Week Away
Jewish superstars join livestream event in the merit of a speedy recovery for founder Rabbi Yehudah Dukes.
This Sunday, volunteers, study partners, and the entire Jewish community will gather virtually for JNet’s celebration of Torah.
“We’re coming together in honor of our dedicated volunteers,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, the driving force behind JNet.
JNet holds an annual appreciation event to honor its volunteers. This year the event is going to the next level, with a bigger audience on a livestream broadcast with performances by Jewish superstars.
Musicians Avraham Fried and Yossi Green, will perform a heart-warming musical component while Rabbi Yossi Jacobson and Rabbi Mendel Kaplan will share words of inspiration, and discuss the Rebbe’s Mivtza Torah campaign. The event’s highlight will be a presentation from real people across the globe who are learning with their JNet chavrusas each week—and changing their lives.
The event is in merit of the speedy recovery of Rabbi Yehudah Dukes, JNet’s founder and director of over 15 years, who is unfortunately in the hospital due to the after effects of coronavirus.
Over the past year, over 50,000 hours of Torah have been learned through Jnet study partnerships, adding up to over a half million hours of learning Torah since JNet was launched in 2005. The JNet network currently facilitates learning between 12,000 people in over 80 different countries and 8 different languages.
“JNet has connected thousands of people to Torah,” says Rabbi Levi Meijers, interim director. “This event is a chance to celebrate that connection.”
