Kiddush Hashem: California National Guardsman Deeply Affected by Jewish Community

by CrownHeights.info

Chabad is always there for you, even if it’s just for a bathroom.

A California National Guardsman, who was deployed in the Pico area of Los Angeles during the recent George Floyd protests, took a minute to share his appreciation for the Jewish community of Los Angeles, and how it affected him deeply.

“I don’t have a lot of experience with the Jewish community,” the guardsman began, “but ever since we got here I notice that you guys loved us.”

The guardsman went on to tell of how the community constantly came by to speak with them, showering them with gifts of cookies, coffee, and doughnuts.

“I’m amazed,” the guardsman said, pointing to the Chabad of Melrose nearby.

The Chabad House had remained open to the guardsman and the police, allowing them to use the facility at any time.

“You saved our lives. You guys are amazing.”

The California National Guard was called away from the streets of LA a few days ago, after the riots and looting from the protests had subsided.
