“Do It Yourself” Seder Class from JLI
For shluchim worldwide, the erev-Pesach script has been interrupted by the Coronavirus outbreak. Unable to organize community sedarim, many of them have been seeking ways to help their communities carry out the mitzvos of Pesach in quarantine.
Many Jews feel clueless about leading a seder on their own, having attended a communal seder or joined family or friends in the past. The silver lining is that people have extra time to take a class online and would love some guidance.
To assist shluchim in meeting the particular call of the hour, JLI created a curriculum for an online class on the basics of running a seder. The DIY Seder Primer, presents inspiration and anecdotes to share at the table, as well as instructions on how to assemble a seder plate and nine simple steps to running a seder. A handy guide for participants in the form of a printable PDF, will assist baalei batim in running a rudimentary but meaningful seder for their families.
“We broke a record with this program,” said JLI’s Shmuly Karp who is coordinating the project which is available to shluchim free of charge. “Close to 800 shluchim ordered the curriculum in a span of two days.”
