Beis Rivkah of Montreal Presents “Rebbe Exposition” For Yud Shvat
On Yud Shvat, the High School students of Beis Rivkah of Montreal prepared an amazing “Rebbe Exposition”. The overall theme was “70 Years of the Rebbe’s Vision and Perspective”.
Each grade presented an exhibit which focused on the Rebbe’s unique perspective in one of the following areas: Mivtzoyim, Eretz Yisroel, sensitivity, positivity, Moshiach. The beautiful exhibits were enhanced with audio and visual aids, demonstrating practical applications.
All the girls were enthusiastically involved in the exhibits’ planning and implementation. The achdus (unity) and Chassidishe fervor was felt in the air. All Elementary and High School students, and many mothers, viewed the exhibits, which were clearly explained by students of each High School class.
In addition, the High School students had a program which included: watching a video of the Rebbe; making a Hachloto (resolution) and writing a Pan to the Rebbe; a banquet lunch; a panel of three-generations of Shluchos; and keynote speaker Rabbi Yossi Bryski (Shliach in Phoenix, Arizona), who also had inspirational farbrengens for the students on the evening after Yud Shvat.
Special thanks to Mrs. Chanie Gansbourg and Mrs. Shterna Pinson for organizing and coordinating this special memorable event, and to the entire High School staff and volunteers for their greatly appreciated help.
Starting from Rosh Chodesh Kislev (which was exactly 70 days before Yud Shvat) until Yud Shvat – all the High School students learned a daily topic from the specially prepared booklets entitled “70 days to complete 70 years”, which included excerpts of Sichos, letters and Maamorim of the Rebbe, as well as stories and information on Yomei D’pagra (notable Chassidic dates), etc. The booklets were compiled by Rabbi Shmuel Shneur, a teacher in High School.
Each student who studied the material for the 70 consecutive days and successfully passed 10 written voluntary quizzes with above 90% average, received 70 dollars cash. The principal, Rabbi Yosef Minkowitz, proudly presented monetary rewards and awards to over 40 deserving students; almost all received $70.
After Yud Shvat, Rabbi Zalman Kaplan, from Eretz Yisroel, spoke to the High School girls.
During the days following Yud Shvat, all Elementary and some High School students excitedly participated in “Yud Shvat Mivtzoyim”. They brought the message of the Rebbe, Simcha and true Ahavas Yisroel, to senior-citizens in many residences throughout Montreal. Children’s daycares were also visited and the children were involved in Yud Shvat activities.
