Lubavitch Youth Organization in Conjunction with the Shluchim Office and in memory of Reb Mendel Shemtov A”H organized the evening with the help of 45 sponsoring Chabad Houses. The program began with MC Rabbi Levi Garelik introducing Chazzan Zalman Baumgarten who sang a heartwarming rendition of “An’im Z’miros”.

Chief Rabbi of Israel – Rabbi Yona Metzger – was Guest of Honor and spoke of the how the greatness of the Rebbe is visible through his Shluchim, and proceeded to tell wonderful stories and insights about various Shluchim around the world as an example.

After the chief Rabbi spoke, the JEM Video “Challenge” – about how the Rebbe never rested and never allowed us to rest when it comes to torah and mitzvos – was shown, and was visibly inspirational to all in attendance to the point that people were singing and clapping together with the Rebbe in the video.

Following “Challenge” Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskar – Bal Harbour Florida – addressed the crowd in his naturally articulate manner, and beautifully explained the concept of “Meeting of Souls” when one visits the resting place of a Tzaddik, based on the excerpt of the Zohar found in the Ma’aneh Lashon.

After a shocking story from the MC about a miraculous recovery he recently had from a terrifying ordeal, the energy in the room was incredibly high, and when the end came the room burst out in song of “Sheyiboneh Beis Hamikdosh” with Chazzan “Tzatzkes” grabbing the microphone and leading the crowd in song.

Finally, special surprised guest Dudu Fisher put a stamp on a great evening by singing a tribute to the Rebbetzins of all the Shluchim with his famed “Yiddisher Mamme”

Special thanks to Rabbi Moshe Pinson, Moshe Silberstein and all the staff of the Shluchim Office and LYO for their help in making An Evening of Tribute a true Kiddush Hashem.
