Infinity Productions Announces Release Date for the new Mayer Rivkin CD
Infinity Productions Corp., has announced the eagerly awaited release of “SHLIACH TZIBUR” – (“representative of the public before G-d”) – featuring the Baal Menagen and Baal Tefilah, Mayer Rivkin. The CD will be available in the United States, G-d Willing, on Rosh Chodesh Elul – Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
Finishing touches to the “mastering” process is now being completed. The ambitious double CD set, of the complete Shabbat morning prayers boasts 113 individual tracks, which will allow the novice or the more advanced to skip, locate and replay specific prayers with ease. With the enhancement of over eighteen popular Chassidic and traditional Jewish melodies, together with tasteful piano background, arranged and recorded by Zalman Goldstein, it is not only a wonderful comprehensive training tool for beginners of all ages, but one can simply choose to sing along or just listen and enjoy the sounds of the inspiring heartfelt Shabbat prayers.
The first and last verse of each prayer that is recited aloud by the Shliach Tzibur (emissary/ representative of the congregation) or Chazan (prayer leader/ cantor), are sung slowly and carefully, making it easy to learn and follow along. “The complexity lies in the pronunciation of the words. We recorded take after take, again and again, double and triple checking syllable stresses and Nusach (traditional melodic chant), until we felt it was as close to perfect as we could attain,” said Mayer Rivkin. Dr. Shmuel Katz of Bal Harbour, Florida, who served as an advisor to the project said, “The grammar that dictates the pronunciation is central to the meaning of the words. This recording project was approached with the knowledge it would be used by Jews from all walks of life, and we devoted ourselves tirelessly to the details.”
As one listens to the uplifting and awe inspiring Shabbat prayers on the CD, he begins to understand the meaning of the Chabad teaching pertaining to prayer: “You can’t think prayers without speaking them, or speak without thinking them. And they aren’t prayers until you sing them.”
After listening to Rivkin’s previous CD “Expressions of the Soul” – The 14 melodies of the Rebbe – Mr. Sami Rohr of the Rohr Family Foundation, initiated this new CD recording and has underwritten its production.
