“NYC – IT’S LIT” The NYC Chanukah Mivtzoim Campaign For All

The “NYC – IT’S LIT” Chanukah campaign under the auspices of the Lubavitch Youth Organization is the platform for schools, families, couples and girls to participate in Mivtzoim, to share the message of Chanukah throughout New York City.

The Tzach staff along with Rabbi Laufer, Nshei Chabad and Rabbi Gerlitzky are working hard to make sure that each nursing home in and around Crown Heights is reached and given a Chanukah experience, as well as to make sure that there are no overlaps and mishaps. The Crown Heights schools and Crown Heights families are booking their slots so they can bring the joy and light of Chanukah to the elderly.

A second division of Chanukah mivtzoim is specifically geared for young couples, where they are connected with local Shluchim who provide them with a list of names, addresses and Chanukah supplies to distribute to Jewish families in Brooklyn apartment buildings. Participants will go door to door, asking families if they would like to light the Menorah.

The third chapter geared for girls will focus on sharing Chanukah on the streets, by connecting the girls to local Shluchim. The local shliach will provide supplies for the girls to do mivtzoim in their area, helping the shliach reach each yid, and ensuring that their part of the city is fully lit up.
