From The Archive: The Chanukah Menorah Of the Rebbe Rayyatz
This article was originally published on December 9th, 2019, and is being republished this Chabukah.
As we approach the days of Chanukah, the “Chanukah Menorah” of the Rebbe Rayyatz, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch, is presented here – in the Exhibition of Our Rebbes, at the Library of Agudas Chassidei Chabad.
On Chanukah, the Rebbe Rayyatz would kindle this Menorah, as it stood on the stepstool, in the doorway of his office.
On display next to it, is the last photograph that was taken of the Rebbe Rayyatz, as he sat on his holy chair, after kindling the Menorah on Chanukah 5710 (1949), in the above location.
Also on display here is a photo of the Menorah, on the same stepstool, in the doorway of the Rebbe Rayyatz’s office. Nearby, the Rebbe’s holy chair can be seen, upon which he sat while lighting the Menorah.
