Perry Farrell, a famed rock singer, wrote an Op-Ed for the Tablet Magazine in which he outlined his connection to the Rebbe, and how it shaped his life.

Farrell, who’s real name is Peretz Bernstein, had a rocky start in his Jewish life. Kicked out of Hebrew School, his Judaism barely passed his Bar Mitzvah, before spiraling down into some dark places.

In his Op-Ed, he writes how a dream about his mother, and a spiritual search, led him to the Rebbe’s teachings. He was effected so much, that he writes about studying the book Daily Wisdom each morning, as a way of recentering, and touching spirituality.

“The Rebbe’s teachings help bring about a change of consciousness and a transformation in daily living.” wrote Farrell, “They inspire me in my life as an artist. “God wants us to ‘dream’ about what He ‘dreams’ about,” the Rebbe taught. “This is why He shares with us His dream for the Messianic future.”

Farrell writes about his most recent album, Kind Heaven, that “Perhaps he (the Rebbe) was a part of that “We,” spoken about in the album.
