
Lag BaOmer in Chicago Like Never Before
Chicago, IL — The success of this year’s parade/fair/show in Chicago was amazing! People can’t stop talking about this astounding event. Here are some of the highlights – some of the pictures – wait till you see the video.

Throughout the day there were more than 3,000 participants at the Lag B’omer Festival. The Parade was coordinated by the Bochurim of the Lubavitch Mesivta of Chicago with 6 floats on all types of Jewish themes, marching bands, marchers of every age with colorful signs, clowns, stretch limousines, classic cars, huge Friendship Circle banner, Scottish bagpipers, BMX riders……
Meanwhile on the reviewing stand – Rabbonim, shluchim, Children reciting the 12 Pesukim, the Chabad of the Gold Coast Band, Police officials and their security unit ……..
As the Grand Fair with rides, games organized by Lubavitch Girls High School, “Learn It – Love It – Live It” Mivtzoim booth, a Lechaim & Schmaltz Herring Booth, chance to win a 2007 Nissan Minivan, Hay Rides, Glatt Kosher Chinese Food, Cotton Candy, Snow Cones, a giant Tzedokah Pushka…..
And finally a grand show…featuring the M Generation of New York. As they step up on stage in their tuxedoes and they perform songs and musical skits, the crowd just can’t get enough. These kids can sing. And then ……
The BMX bikers are next up at center stage. Flips and “wheel touches”, upside down and death defying runs, has the audience ooohing and aaaaaaahing!
The crowd is focused on a Living Torah Video of the Rebbe and a quick slide show reviewing the events of the day and then……
Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz, Regional Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois, organizer of the Lag B’omer Festival, gets the crowd to join in a thundering chant of “We Want Moshiach Now” and …….
KABOOOOOOOOOOM!
Fireworks! Light up the Chicago sky! Red, and green, white and blue! Here comes another one! Wow! did you see that one! Look over there! Hey, watch that! NEAT! FANTASTIC! SPECTACULAR!
The crowd could not get enough and as each participant was handed the brand new KIDS Magazine everyone thanked Chabad for a super, awesome event of Torah, Tefiilah, Tzedakah, & FUN!
Special mention should be made of the dedicated Lag B’omer Committee led by Rabbis Zelik Moscowitz, Meir Hecht, Rueven Cheruff, Baruch Epstein, Dovid Grossman, Yosef Moscowitz, and Aryeh Shender, Peach Glaser, Mayer Silber, Yankee Turner, R. M., plus the many, many Anash volunteers.
