Moscow to Celebrate Yud Tes Kislev

A grand event is planned for Tuesday in honor of Yud Tes Kislev in the Jewish “Marina Roscha” neighborhood of Moscow. This year. the celebration will be marking 120 years since the Rebbe Rashab gave the name “Tomchei Temimim” to his Yeshiva. Tomchei Temimim now has branches throughout Russia, and around the world.

The guest of honor this year is R ‘Mottele Kanelsky from New Jersey. For the first time after 50 years, he has returned to Moscow this week in a historic and exciting visit. It is the first time he has returned since he and his family managed to escape the Soviet Union through the blessing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Rabbi Kanelsky went to visit the town, “Mlacooka,” a suburb of Moscow, where he found the cellar under the family home, in which he was hidden along with his brother until the age of 9. It was there were he was taught Torah for many years.

The entertainment of the evening will be Chasidic singer R. Yoni Shlomo. The event will have a gala banquet and a chasidic farbrengen.
