100 Sets of Seforim Donated in Young Boy’s Memory
In honor of Hei Teves, and in memory of their dear son and brother, Shimmy Newfield, OBM, who passed away in 1998 at the young age of 12, the Newfield family subsidized 100 sets of the Levush sefarim by Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe to the yungerleit studying in the kollels of Crown Heights.
The sets were distributed this afternoon with a kuntres on the Levush and his life.
Rabbi Mordecai ben Avraham Yoffe (or Jaffe or Joffe) (c. 1530 – 7 March 1612) was a Rabbi, Rosh yeshiva and posek. He is best known as author of Levush Malkhut, a ten-volume codification of Jewish law that particularly stressed the customs of the Jews of Eastern Europe. He is known as “the Levush” or “the Ba’al Halevushim” for this work.

Yossi
Rabbi Yossi Newfield is a very special person, with a heart of gold and love for Torah and Yiddishkeit. Many more will surely learn from Yossi’s good deeds, not only the ones he does in the open, but also what he does behind closed doors. Keep up the good work!
