Sydney Cheder Girls Build Moshiach Exhibition

by Fraida Feldman

The girls at Cheder Chabad Sydney wanted to do something special to commemorate Tisha B’av. It is well known that Moshiach was born on the 9th of Av, and that when Moshiach comes, the day will will not be a fast day but a yomtov. Therefore, the shluchos at the Cheder found it befitting to put on a Moshiach exhibition on Tisha B’av itself.

Girls from across all ages; from Year 2 until Year 8 set to work creating models of different aspects of the Beis Hamikdosh and Moshiach. Some also presented an accompanying research paper on the aspect that they chose to present. There were no specific guidelines of medium, meaning each girl presented their idea in whichever way she chose. Each exhibit was creative and unique!

On Tisha B’av itself, parents, grandparents, family and friends came to see the exhibition the girls had put on. It was all displayed in a large room. As they walked around the room, they could view the different canvasses, clay models, art and craft models, and more. The effort in the projects that had been put together was much higher than expected, and the results were spectacular.

Overall, the exhibit was a great way for the girls to self-motivate themselves to learn about the Beis Hamikdosh and present their learnings in a fun and creative way.
