Paris Community Marks Bochur’s 1st Yahrtzeit

On Sunday evening, the eve of the 9th of Elul, a gathering was held at the Sinai Educational Institute in Paris, France, to commemorate the first Yahrtzeit of Hatomim Shneur Zalman Pevzner, who passed away at the young age of 22 after a yearlong battle with a difficult illness.

The event was attended by many prominent Rabbonim, community leaders, Anash and Jews of all stripes.

Shneur Zalman was a student in the Sinai Educational Institute, and later in the Chabad Yeshiva in Brunoy and in 770 in New York.

His teachers commented that not only was he a brilliant student, but he made sure to set aside time to help the weaker students catch up with their studies as well.

As a young Shliach, he was also very involved in outreach activities to bring his fellow Jews closer to their roots.

When he fell ill, he faced his challenges with incredible bravery, strength of character and Emunah.

He was a scholar, an activist, a leader and a beautiful soul. May his memory be for a blessing.
