Yeshiva of the Twin Cities Shabbaton
Twin Cities, MN — The bochurim the Yeshiva are still reeling from a fantastic Shabbaton to Mequon, Wisconsin. The bochurim were awakened at 5AM Friday, and drove four hours to Madison, WI, for Shacharis and breakfast by Rabbi Yonah Matusof’s Chabad House. Before continuing on to Mequon, the yeshiva stopped at the Henry Vilas Zoo. While there, they were filmed by a local TV crew for the evening news.
Two more hours of driving down Interstate 94 and they arrive at the Chabad House in Mequon. The bochurim were split among several of the anash families, including a few former Minnesotans. As the bochurim got to shul for mincha, the snow began. That storm would drop 18 inches of snow by Sunday night, but it did not diminish the quality of the Shabbaton. Shabbos in Mequon – davening, farbrenging, delicious Kiddush, fabulous shul, wonderful hosts – was great!
Rabbi Avromi Schapiro, shliach in West Milwaukee, hosted the yeshiva for a Melaveh Malkah. Rabbi Schapiro talked about his years as a bochur in Minnesota, and encouraged the bochurim to accomplish as much as they themselves could.
Sunday morning, following shacharis and breakfast at the Chabad House, the bochurim spent two hours helping kids learn alef-bais at Hebrew school. Then the bochurim packed into the vans for what they thought was the long ride home. To their surprise and excitement, the next stop was Cascade Mountain, located in Wisconsin Dells, where they went snow tubing and sledding! In the words of one of the boys, “An awesome end to a super Shabbaton!” The Yeshiva arrived back home late Sunday night. Thanks to all the gracious hosts, and especially Rabbi Moshe Rapoport, who devoted himself to the bochurim all Shabbos long!

First of all I want to tell Dave that he should turn up his light bulb and realize that a Shabbaton is fun and games given to deserving bochurim.
Secondly, Minnesota looks like they’re having a good time and the shluchim are defenitely responsible for a good chunk of that. Hey Meir, Shua and Eliezer.
