7th Yahrtzeit of Hatomim Sholom Brashevitzky
Tzfat, Israel — Friends and family gathered today to mark the 7th Yahrtzeit of Hatomim shlomo Sholom Brashevitzky who passed away after sustaining serious injuries as result of a car accident. Sholom OBM wa remembered as a Chassidishe Bochur who dedicated himself to helping and caring for others. He was a well loved person who always put others before himself.
The Yeshiva Tzirei Hashluchim of Tzfat gathered – for what has becom a tradition for the students of the Yeshiva – in tribute of the Yeshiva’s foundness for it’s dear dorm counslor who was well liked and cherished by all. The boys of the Yeshivah visited hid grave and recited Tehillim. After the Kaddish which was recited by Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, dean of the Yeshivah, who is resposible for keeping up the tradition, the students heard words of encouragement from Rabbi Sholom Ber Hertzel, the Rosh Yeshivah.
Later at the farbrengen commerating the Yahrtzeit, the students heard from Rabbi Hertzel about the life and dedication of Sholom, the manner in which he approached his duties as a Madrich for younger Bochurim, and the lessons which we can learn from this. The students were further impressed by Sholom’s memory in light of the fact that many of the students who studied in the Yeshiva at the time of his passing, make it a point to commemorate this occasion in respect to his devotion he showed towards them.
May we merit speedily to wittnes the promise of “V’hakitzu Viranenu Shochnei Ofor” when we will once again be reunited with the Rebbe and all Yidden BB”A.

I grew up with Sholom on Sterling street and went to Yeshiva with him in Montreal. I have a wonderfull memory of sholom davening for 5 or 6 hours every shabbos in Montreal after learning chasidus for 2 hours. This was something that he did every shabbos without fail. Sholom, that dedication to tefilah is something I will always remember you by.

Sholom was the nicest dorm counselor i ever had.He had a cool nickname for me, Zashat. He was very understanding when we had issues. He never shouted. He had a tremendous love for the Rebbe. He would somtimes make small shiurim in Rambam. His passing took a tremendous toll on us young bochurim.
We love you Sholom and we miss you Tons….
