Moscow, Russia — A new auditorium of the Yeshiva Gedolah in Moscow was dedicated last week in the presence of the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar, members of the Beth Din in Russia, Roshei Yeshivah, Rabbis and dozens of students.

The Yeshiva Gedolah Tomchei Temimim in Moscow itself was established twenty years ago and many of the bochurim that studied there have since then assumed leadership positions in the fields of Kashrut and the Rabbinate. Some serve as shluchim in various parts of Russia and Ukraine.

A lot of the bochurim attending the yeshiva are graduates from the educatuional Ohr Avner network headed by philanthropist Lev Leviev. The yeshiva is known for its high standards in learning and from time to time well known rabbis will come to test the bochurim and examine their progress.

It should be noted that this yeshiva is one of 15 yeshivos that exist in the former Soviet Union today affiliated with the Ohr Avner schools. Many students who have become closer to Yiddishkeit in the Ohr Avner schools will come to the yeshiva to spend shabbosim and holidays there.
