Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Rabbi Eliezer Daniel Meyers, 76, OBM
With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Eliezer Daniel Meyers OBM, a longtime member of the Chabad community of Holland. He was 76 years old.
Rabbi Meyers was a professor at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam where he taught cultural anthropology. He was also very active in outreach and Mivtzoim.
A lifelong resident of Holland, he has been recently living in Jerusalem.
He is survived by his children; Rabbi Pinchos Meyers (Antwerp, Belgium), R’ Dovid Eliyahu Meyers (Ramat Shlomo, Jerusalem), Mrs. Sara Nemenow (Brunoy, France), R’ Mendel Meyers (Crown Heights), and R’ Ezra Emanuel Meyers (Beitar Ilit, Israel).
The Levaya took place on Motzai Shabbos in Jerusalem.
The Family is sitting Shiva at 8 Rechov Ezrat Torah in Jerusalem. Shacharis 8:30am, 9:00am and 9:30am. Mincha and Maariv Bizmana.

Rabbi Meijers was not “part of the chabad community”, he was the first shliach in holland. He was taught by the rebbe to live there, to teach in this university, and to do as much as possible for the students there, and community. He never wanted to appear in any shlichus pictures books or any kinus, because of his anava.
