5 Mitzvah Tanks to Cross Russia
In what has already become a summer tradition, a group of 15 young and ambitious rabbis assembled in Moscow for a 3-week journey – in mobile synagogues – to cross the vast lands of Russia, aiming to reach out to every small and even the most remote Jewish community.
A special press conference, headed by Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, took place in honor of the event in Moscow’s Jewish community center and was broadcasted across the country, inviting the country’s Jews to meet the young rabbis and take advantage of their visits.
“We are by right considered to be the most dynamically developing Jewish community in the diaspora. Some people may think we can stop and rest now. But we understand very well that our task is to carry the light of Jewishness, the light of the Torah even to the most remote parts of the country, and we have a lot of work to do here,” Rabbi Lazar was quoted by Interfax News as saying.
