71 Years After D-Day, a Bris Milah in Normandy

71 years after the allied forces invaded the coast of Normandy in their fight against the Nazis, history was once again made in this northwestern region of France – the first Halachic Bris Milah performed on a Jewish child in as many decades.

The Bris Milah was performed on the newborn son of Rabbi Mordechai and Zlata Levin, a young couple who moved to the city of Caen less than a year ago to serve as Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries to the Jewish community in the region.
